Nonprofits Making a Difference Locally 2

Carlsbad has many opportunities to give back to the community. From faith-based organizations to arts funding foundations, there is something for everyone who wishes to get involved. Here are a few local organizations doing great work in the area, supporting several deserving causes and ramping up on their year-end projects, events and campaigns. We hope you will support their work by participating in their fundraisers, volunteering with them and giving back to the community we all call home.

Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation serves to “Inspire people through education and outreach to preserve the Agua Hedionda Lagoon as an accessible and healthy watershed.” If you are passionate about the environment, there are many programs that need volunteers; you could be a Discovery Center Docent, work in the Native Gardens, or even help with trail maintenance activities. Upcoming activities include VIP eco tours; monthly Kid’s Club, and the Rubber Ducky Derby, November 5th.
